We had some time off in Dubai and really wanted to find something interesting to do. We hear many of our friends naming this place called Hatta so we thought: let's give it a try!

As we were doing our research we came across various activities such as kayaking, minigolf and several other sports located at the heart of the mountains in Hatta. We then checked for a nice accommodation and came across a cosy stay at this Luxury resort called Hatta the Fort.
We had a chance here to experience cosy hatta in a luxurious yet low cost way!
We liked it so much that we went another time about a month later.

HATTA
Geography - It lies to the south-east of Dubai's main territory and is about 134 km east of Dubai City. It is located relatively high in the Hajar Mountains. It borders Oman to the east and the south, the Ajmani exclave of Masfout to the west, and Ras al-Khaimah to the north.
History - Hatta became a dependency of Dubai during the reign of Hasher Bin Maktoum after the Omani Sultan Turki bin Said transferred the territory, finding himself unable to defend it against the Na'im of Buraimi.
The old village of Hatta includes two prominent military towers from the 18th century and the Juma mosque, which was built in 1780 and is the oldest building in Hatta. The traditional water supply was through the falaj system, which has been restored.
Since it is located in the mountains, traditionally it was the summer habitation of Dubai-based families escaping the heat and humidity of the coast.
Since the early 1980s, Hatta has been a popular destination for adventuring expatriates and local families alike 'wadi bashing' through the tracks between Hatta, Mahdah and Al Ain.
